Shari-La Island Resort is
a tropical island idyll on Pulau Perhentian Kecil, one of the Perhentian
Islands located 21KM off the North East coast of Peninsula Malaysia.
Shari-La Island Resort is situated on one of the famous beaches on the
islands. An above-average resort judging from the price. Location is very
strategic, near the beautiful beach of Teluk Aur, which to our guest is the
best beach on the island. The chalets are cleverly built between natural
vegetation and blends well with the surroundings. There is a good patch of
coral garden right in front of the resort.
Development here is still generally low-key with most accommodation
consisting of low-rise chalets and bungalows. The island therefore retains
much of their original forest cover and within the resort itself it is
possible to see monitor lizards, spectacled languor monkeys and flying
squirrels. The surrounding crystal clear waters of the South China Sea are
home to an abundance of coral and marine life including green and hawks-bill
turtles, moray ells, beaches combined with a very relaxed atmosphere make
this a mecca for scuba divers, snorkellers and those just wanting somewhere
"to get away from it all".
The restaurants cater for ala-carte meals as well as packaged meals for
groups. The month of April to August is super high season and booking has to
be made well in advance.
