The Spa Village Malacca honours the
healing traditions of the local region. This two-storey enclave is the
world's only spa to base its therapies in the healing heritage of the
Baba-Nyonya - a unique combination of Chinese and Malay influences. This
rich culture is reflected not only in the therapies, but also within the
architectural environment of the spa itself. Intricate traditional
woodcarving is juxtaposed with finely detailed porcelain wall tiles,
while traditional Peranakan Chinese day beds are bathed in muted
sunlight through the floor to ceiling windows - a beautiful location to
rest and rejuvenate.
Based on Peranakan Chinese healing
philosophy and inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine, Spa Village
Malacca's therapies are moulded around a person's cool or warm energy.
Amongst the warm-energy treatments offered are a Malacca palm sugar and
honey scrub, hot nutmeg and rice rolling body massage and bird's nest
and tapioca facial therapy. For cool-energy treatments, experience the
yogurt and guava leaf scrub, egg-rolling massage and the bird's nest and
