Permai Rainforest Resort is an eco-resort set in pristine Borneo rainforest located on the shores of the South China Sea, and at the foot of mystical Mount Santubong. Carefully designed to minimize impact on the natural environment, it offers a unique rainforest experience. The resort is only 25 km or 30 minutes drive north of Kuching, the capital of Sarawak.

Operating since 1990, Permai Rainforest Resort is a unique place with its own rugged identity, undisturbed natural beauty and wonderfully rich biodiversity. These are a host of recreational activities at the resort and in the surrounding area, ranging from jungle trekking and overnight trips into the forest to high ropes courses, sea kayaking, evening mangrove cruises and dolphin watching.

ROOM AMENITIES
The Tree House (10 units) - Single units built upon stilts 20 feet above the ground placing you in the forest canopy. The units sleep 2 and have either a Queen sized bed or 2 Super Single sized beds. These units are air conditioned and have ensuite bathrooms. Soap, towels, tea & coffee making facilities and a fridge with drinks are provided. Sleeping amongst the trees and waking to the sound of the sea lapping against the shore is an experience not to be missed. Perfect for romantic couples and small families or anyone who needs to unwind.

Cabin (23 units) - Spread out through the resort under the trees, these units are ideal for families or groups offering affordable accommodation that is practical and comfortable and in a setting that cannot be beaten.

Single Storey Cabin - Each cabin has 2 rooms with 3 beds in each and a wash area which consists of a separate toilet, shower and wash basin. All units have tea & coffee making facilities, a refrigerator and hot shower. Some of these cabins have BBQ pits and a large veranda space for cooking. If you wish to have a BBQ please request such cabins when making your reservations

Double Storey Cabins - The double storey cabin can accommodate up to 10 persons in 3 bedrooms. There are 2 bathrooms, one on each floor. The cabin has bunk beds in the two ground floor bedrooms and single beds on the second floor sleeping area.

FACILITIES
Permai Rainforest Resort is among the pioneers of adventure training in Malaysia and is one of the leading training venues in the country. Adventure training is an aspect of the 'Experiential Learning Concept' and is an effective means of developing teamwork, leadership skills and enhancing trust and self-confidence, using real life situations.

The natural environment within and around Permai Rainforest Resort and the facilities available allow for an extensive range of activities on both land and sea.

Activities are conducted by trained and experienced Instructors. Our instructors are firm but fair and caring, our approach is to be supportive and to empathise with participants. This approach enhances the participants' motivation to participate and commit to the program.

Priority is always given to the safety of the participants and to achieving the overall objective of the client. Our clients include government and government-related bodies, local and overseas private companies, schools (local and foreign), universities, church groups, etc.

CONFERENCE & BANQUET 
Jungle Hall - This hall is an open building capable of seating 200 people in a theatre style setting or to serve 130 people for dining. A great venue for anything from discussions to opening ceremonies and games to yoga classes.

Conference Room - three Training rooms of different sizes, suitable for any indoor activity. Named after bays along the Damai coastline, the training rooms are :

 Belian Room - Capacity 120 persons (Theatre Style)
 Embang Room - Capacity 40 persons (Theatre Style)

All conference rooms are air-conditioned and are located within 1 minute's walk of the Rainforest Cafe. Use of the conference rooms include the standard conference facilities you would expect in a modern conference room such as P.A. system, a LCD projector flip charts and whiteboards.

FOOD & BEVERAGE
Rainforest Cafe - The cafe is located on the hillside and provides an excellent view of the seaside. In the evenings, the view of the sunset is breathtaking. It is also mostly surrounded by trees so you can get to see squirrels and birds and occasionally a whip snake slithering through the trees.

Most of the set menus consist of local dishes however we will tailor the meals to any requirement. Western and vegetarian meals are available. If you are looking to do something really memorable, try the barbeque and buffet on the beach at sunset. All prepared food is halal and cooked without the use of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG).

The cafe serves a range of local dishes such as garlic butter prawns, midin belacan, ayam pansoh and chilli crab. Some of these dishes are exclusively Sarawakian and are cooked the local way - simple, spicy and tasty using fresh local ingredients.

GETTING AROUND
Permai Rainforest Resort is located in Borneo only 35 km from Kuching City center, a 30 minutes leisurely drive. It is situated at the end of Santubong Peninnsula, one of Sarawak’s premier holiday locations.

A 5-minute walk from the Resort is the Sarawak Cultural Village, a living museum that showcases Sarawak’s rich cultural heritage. The Cultural Village is open daily from 9.00am - 5.00pm. Cultural shows are available twice a day. The Cultural Village is also the venue for the world famous Rainforest Music Festival.
