ATTRACTION
Centrally located within the city and close to the commercial and

State Secretariat Building - Located on a hill called Bukit Timbalan,
this building was built in 1940. This is where the state secretariat and
other government departments operate in.
Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar - Said
to be one of the most beautiful mosques in Malaysia, this mosque was
named after the late Sultan Abu Bakar, also known as "The Father of
Modern Johor". Standing majestically on a hilltop overlooking the
Tebrau Straits, this mosque can accommodate up to 2,000 worshippers at
one time.
Dataran Bandaraya - A very
popular tourist spot. Located strategically along the coastline facing
Singapore, it's a much sought after venue for public events like parades
and concerts. Major attractions include a minaret, a fountain and a
clock tower, reputedly the biggest in the region.
The Causeway - Completed in
1924, this 1,056m long causeway provides a fast link between Singapore
and Peninsular Malaysia. There is a pedestrian walkway for those who
would like to walk to Singapore.
Royal Abu Bakar Museum - This
imposing palace was built in 1866 by the late Sultan Abu Bakar (who was
known as the 'Father of Modern Johor'). The museum, housed in the former
palace has a large collection of crown jewels and historical artifacts
belonging to the Johor Royal family, and an impressive collection of
rare, beautiful treasures from all over the world.
Galeri MAWAR of Famous &
Gracious Ladies of Johor - The first of its kind gallery in Malaysia,
Galeri MAWAR was officially launched by DYMM Sultanah Zanariah of Johor
on 29 July 2000. The gallery highlights the achievements of Johor women
and houses the portraits of successful ladies in their respective fields
such as the first woman district officer, first woman parachutist and
the first Sultanah of Johor.

Art Gallery - Built in 1910, this gallery houses historical items and
cultural artifacts traditionally used by Malays, especially those from
Johor. Some of the items showcased here include clothing, weapons,
currency, calligraphy and ceramic artifacts.
GETTING
AROUND
Mutiara Johor Bahru is easily accessible by all major roads. It
takes about 30 minutes to drive to the hotel
from the Sultan Ismail Airport in Senai, while guests from Singapore can
reach the hotel
within 10 minutes via the Causeway. For guests from the north, east
and central regions, the North-South Highway provides a smooth speedy journey.
Train service connecting Johor Bahru and other cities in Malaysia is
also available.
