Utan Rehabilitation Centre.

the scheduled video documentary show at the Sepilok Information building.
The 20 minutes video show will give you an insight of the Orang Utan
rehabilitation process and its threats to survival.
09:10am-10:30am -
Proceed to Sepilok Forest Reserve, orphaned and injured Orang Utans are
brought to Sepilok to be rehabilitated to return to forest life. Sepilok
is a primary lowland forest, a fine showcase of Borneo’s remaining rain
forest. Witness the feeding of Orang Utan from a platform in the forest.
10:30am-12:45pm -
Continue your rainforest adventure to visit one of the nature trails and
experience a walk in the Bornean rainforest, see the diversity of plants,
observe the 30 - 50 metres tall dipterocarp trees, more than 100 years old
liana, the wild flowers and fascinating insects. Sepilok has recorded more
than 250 species of birds, good chances of sighting macaques, leaf monkeys
and other mammals. The reserve is a source of seed material for the
enrichment of other forested areas and remains a living gene bank of
resources.

14:15pm - Transfer to
Sandakan airport for your return flight to Kota Kinabalu at MH2705 ETD
1515hrs.

11.00am - After the
excursion at Sepilok, proceed to Puj Jih Sih temple, situated on the
hilltop with a commanding view of Sandakan bay, built in 1987, this ornate
temple is blazed with red and gold, with writhing dragons and gold gilded
Buddha. It is said that the temple protects and brings prosperity to
Sandakan community. Then proceed downhill for your lunch at local
restaurant.
13.15pm - You drive
downtown Sandakan streets, at the market see the local produce such as
vegetables, fruits, fish and many others. Few minutes drive is the Sim Sim
Water Village, this settlement was established in 1879, here you can walk
and see the houses on stilt occupied by the local Chinese and Malays.
Then, transfer to Sandakan airport for your return flight to Kota Kinabalu
at MH2705 ETD 1515hrs (Lunch) |
