Meet at Hotel Lobby. Depart on a 2hr, 90km/55mi drive across the spectacular Crocker Range to the ecologically unique environs of Mt. Kinabalu. Stopping briefly at fruits and souvenirs stalls.

At the Park HQ (1,540m/ 5,000ft), visit the Education Centre and the Botanical Garden to see orchids, rhododendrons, ferns, pitcher-plants, kerosene trees and others.

Take jungle walk near the Park HQ and learn more about the Montage  Forest. Mid-afternoon, return to Kota Kinabalu.

After lunch, depart to Poring Hot Springs (40km). Trek though a hill dipterocarp forest rich in wild fruit trees and animal life, passing giant bamboos and ginger plants with edible flower to reach a jungle - canopy walkway 40m above ground. Then relax in open air outdoor tubs filled with hot/cold running mineral waters.

Mid afternoon, return to Kota Kinabalu with brief stopovers at fruitstalls. (Lunch) (Indoor tubs optional extra)
